I Dream of Provence (2009)

The new painting: "I Dream of Provence"
Acrylic on Canvas, 1000 x 1000mm.
The idea came from finishing Peter Mayles 1989 book "A year in Provence". The idea of getting away from the rat race to live in the south of France. What a nice idea!!

In 2005, we went for a tour around wonderful Iceland.
What a brilliant place!!

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon (2007)

Here is a small painting i did back in early 2007. Themed around a nice early spring, warm sunny day relaxing after having a beautiful sunday picnic lunch. A  Couple of glasses of Sangiovese..Mmmmm...when is it Sunday again??

Honeyeater (2008)

Here is a painting I did last year of one of our native birds: The Yellow-wing Honeyeater. A bird you see nearly everyday in the garden.

McLaren Vale is my inspiration (Part one)

This painting was done for a family member which enjoys McLaren Vale as much as we do. Especially the produce!

McLaren Vale is my inspiration (Part two)

I get inspired from McLaren Vale in South Australia. It is quite a beautiful area with some famous wineries which are the best in Australia. Dry rolling hills with the green vineyards are my backdrop. The early settlers in South Australia built their houses out of Mt.Gambier stone which give it a southern european feel to the area especially. Coriole winery is a great example and one of my favourite places when I am back home. For more information: http://www.mclarenvale.info or http://www.coriole.com

A Darker side...

I was asked by a couple of people to try a darker style of paintings. My paintings are usually bright and happy, why not try a darker, gothic style (Thinking of Tim Burton movies). But they were kinda depressing to work on! Black crows, snow, winter and red blood, they were good graphic elements. I think I shocked people when they were in my exhibition last year. And they sold! I might try it again? or not?

In the Garden...

Here is some more of my photography. Enjoy!

Sydney

Sydney....My favourite city!! This place has a great international city vibe. The beautiful harbour, the design icon...The Sydney Opera House and the other icon...The Harbour bridge. I went up to visit my old Uni friend, Kirsten last April. She showed me around of her Sydney. It was so much fun. My favourite breakfast of all time was at: Deus Ex Machina's cafe in Camperdown. Dare Jennings - Former owner of Mambo clothing (All Hail!!) his new business which has restoring old motorbikes and bicycles into works of useable art. Also there is Deus clothing. The cafe is very popular on weekends and the coffee is the best I have ever tasted. Check out their website: http://www.deus.com.au
